Mahjong is a tile-based board-game originating in China, in which you draw and discard tiles each turn to achieve patterns in your hand that satisfy winning conditions (yaku). However, each tile you discard can be used by your opponents. After each round, points are exchanged depending on the value of the hand. The rules may seem complicated at first, but with time & practice a truly remarkable game, that combines the luck of the draw with strategic decision-making and reading of the opponents discards.
It is a game where a complete beginner can through sheer luck defy the odds to defeat a pro.
Most importantly, it is very fun.
