Gears ride to Julian

Details

Come join us on this beautiful ride to the town of Julian, a historic gold mining town located approximately one hour east of San Diego. It is a quaint mountain retreat. Specialty shops line the historic streets, and the attractions are unique, ranging from wineries to gold mines to a wolf preserve. With a year-round calendar of unique events including the Old Time Melodrama, Gold Rush Days, a 4th of July parade and the Grape Stomp Fiesta, etc., Julian offers plenty of old fashioned entertainment for couples, families and groups of all ages. We will have fuel and rest stops planned out approximately every 100 miles or so. With the unpredictability of restaurant capacity requirements and hours, we may have to decide on the day of the ride what our dining options are. For now we plan on eating at Hero’s pizza. From there we will ride back out of the hills where we will call the ride at our last gas stop. We wear leather and ride motorcycles, but there is something unique about Gears. We are an organization that accepts people from all walks of life, who enjoy motorcycles. We strive to promote a positive environment of fun, safe riding and camaraderie within the motorcycle community. On the morning of the rid we will be meeting at the Del Taco off McKinley and the 91 freeway. There will be a quick meeting and pre-ride briefing starting at 8:30am with kickstands up at 9:15. We welcome first time guests! No matter what you ride from HOGs to Hondas and of course Yamaha's, 2 wheels or 3, we’re all here to have fun! We have a very strong chapter filled with respectful motorcyclists from all walks of life. No matter what your level of riding experience is you will find plenty of friends with Gears! If you aren’t up for the entire ride, no worries! Riders are free to break off at any time. We will stop for fuel and rest approximately ever 100-120 miles.*Rider Requirements: For your safety and that of the group, we require that you show up with a DOT helmet, gloves and appropriate footwear. Please arrive with full tank of gas. We do require all riders to have a valid motorcycle endorsement and insurance. Please note Gears does not condone the consumption of alcohol on our rides for obvious reasons.
