### Welcome to our Walking and Hiking group

This group is for those who enjoy walking or true hiking, whether it's for health, fitness, mental clarity, enjoyment of nature, or inner peace. We created this community to bring together people in Riyadh who share a passion for exploring the outdoors on foot.

We aim to create an enjoyable and engaging experience for all members. To help foster a positive, respectful, and well-organized environment, we’ve established the following guidelines and policies.

### Group Guidelines:

To keep a positive experience for everyone, please adhere to the following:

  • Respect Others: Be kind and considerate toward all members. Disruptive, rude, or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated. Report any issues to the organizers.
  • Profile Name & Photo: Your Meetup profile must display at least your first name and include a photo (not necessarily of your face) to attend events.
  • Be Punctual: Please arrive on time. We start our events promptly, and latecomers cannot be accommodated.
  • Confirmed Participants Only: Only those who RSVP and receive confirmation from the host may attend. No unregistered guests.
  • Smoke-Free Events: Smoking is not allowed during our walks or hikes.
  • Quiet Atmosphere: Refrain from playing loud music during events.
  • Minimum Attendance: Events usually require at least three confirmed participants. If this number isn’t met, the event may be canceled or rescheduled.
  • Respect Privacy: Always ask for permission before photographing other participants.
  • Transportation: Unless stated otherwise, participants are responsible for getting to and from the meeting point. Carpooling is encouraged when possible.
  • Inactivity: Members who haven’t attended any events for over 6 months without a valid reason may be removed to maintain an engaged community.
  • Leave No Trace: Dispose of any trash responsibly and respect nature by leaving it as you found it.

Failure to follow these guidelines may affect your eligibility to join future events.

### Attendance Policy:

  • RSVP Responsibility: Only RSVP if you genuinely plan to attend. Frequent cancellations or lack of responses may affect your membership.
  • Confirmation Required: When requested, If asked, confirm your attendance by the specified deadline. Failure to do so may result in your spot being given to someone on the waitlist.
    Punctuality: A 10–15 minute grace period is provided at the meeting point. Events start promptly after this period, and late arrivals will not be accommodated.
  • No-Show Policy: If you confirm attendance but fail to show up without a valid excuse, you will be marked as a "no-show." Repeated no-shows may result in removal from the group.

### Tips for a Great Experience:

  • Stay Hydrated: ALWAYS bring enough water.
  • Dress Appropriately: Wear comfortable clothing and sturdy footwear suitable for the trail and weather conditions.
  • Be Prepared: Check the weather forecast and pack essentials like sunscreen, hats, or rain gear.
  • Carry Snacks: Light snacks can help maintain your energy during longer routes.
  • Read the Event Details: Review the event description and difficulty level in advance.
  • Communicate: Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions or concerns before or during the event.

### Safety and Emergencies

Safety is our top priority. When you join us for a hiking trip, please note the following:

  • Emergency Contact: Share your emergency contact information with organizers before attending events.
  • First Aid: Organizers may carry basic first-aid supplies, but you should bring any personal necessities.
  • Follow Instructions: Please follow organizer guidance during the event and report any safety concerns immediately.

### Event Changes

Events may occasionally be canceled or rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather, low attendance, or other unforeseen factors. Any changes will be communicated as early as possible through Meetup or the designated communication platform.

### Event Photos

We may occasionally take photos during events for memories, documentation, or promotion. If you prefer not to be included, let the organizers know, and we will respect your request.

By joining our events, you acknowledge that walking and hiking involve inherent risks, and you agree to take personal responsibility for your safety. The group and its organizers are not liable for any injuries, losses, or damages that may occur during events.
