This month we will be hearing about a wide range of practical applications of R in the agronomy field!
Dr. Marin Harbur will be introduce her work with machine learning and Shiny applications. She will then provide an introduction to the use of spatial statistics in R. This will include map projections, the spatial features (sf) package, and kriging (interpolating) data using stars datasets. She will also show how to present spatial data using the leaflet package.
Marin is a Senior Data Analyst at Winfield United, the crop inputs division of Land O Lakes. She is also an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Agronomy at Iowa State University, where she teaches Agronomy 513, Quantitative Methods in Agronomy. She graduated from Iowa State in 2003, where she co-majored in Crop Production and Physiology and Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. Marin lives in Lima Ohio with her wife, Kathleen, and two sons.
