There's an amazing amount of R code on GitHub, including the source of all CRAN packages and the source of R itself. As a result, lots of intermediate-to-advanced questions about R programming can be at least partially answered via an appropriate code search on GitHub. I must do this multiple times per day and I am sure that I am not alone. I'll share some tips on how GitHub code search can be a very effective technique for self-help for an R programmer.
