At this event, Erin LeDell, Chief ML Scientist at H2O.ai and R-Ladies SF co-organizer, will provide an overview of the field of "Automatic Machine Learning" (AutoML), and lead a hands-on tutorial of the AutoML functionality in the "h2o" R package.

No pre-requisite knowledge of ML is required, though some familiarity with the basics of classification and regression will be helpful.

H2O’s AutoML can be a helpful tool for both the novice and advanced user, by providing a simple function that performs a large number of modeling-related tasks that would typically require many lines of code. The function will automatically train and tune many models within a user-specified time-limit. Stacked Ensembles will be automatically trained on collections of individual models to produce highly predictive ensemble models which, in most cases, will be the top performing models in the AutoML Leaderboard.
