In this practical session, you’ll learn how to:

  • Follow a step-by-step, hands-on tutorial to create your own {rhino} app
  • Use AI-powered development to rapidly design and build a Shiny module

Whether you’re just starting with {rhino} or already familiar with Shiny, you’ll leave with actionable knowledge, reusable code, and the confidence to apply these techniques to your own projects.

Speaker: Rory Chen

Rory Chen is a health data scientist specialising in the data infrastructure that supports dementia research. She leads CHeBA’s Dementias Platform Australia initiative, advancing the FAIR data principles — making research data more Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable.

With over nine years’ experience working with large, complex datasets in academic and public health settings, Rory brings expertise in R, Python, SAS, SQL, REDCap, AWS, and agile project management. She is also an active member of R-Ladies Sydney and the UNSW CodeRs Committee.
