#################
This weekend we’re off to Pembrokeshire in Wales to explore the spectacular Atlantic coastline and the National Park! The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is the UK's only coastal national park and is home to some of the most breathtaking coastal scenery.
Departing from London early on Saturday morning, we'll head to St David's Peninsula. Today we'll hike along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path National Trail from the huge sandy Newgale Beach (Blue Flag awarded!) to Caerfai Bay. This section is jam-packed with views: hidden coves and caves, natural arches, wild off-shore islands, picturesque harbours, historic forts and incredible seabird colonies await us! We'll finish our hike at St Non's Bay, next to the holy chapel, said to be the birthplace of the patron saint of Wales, St David. After the hike, we'll check in at our hotel in St David's, where we'll rest and enjoy a comforting dinner.
On Sunday, after an early breakfast, we'll continue our beautiful walk along the cliff-top trail. The rugged coastline will take us to the scenic St Justinian's Harbour, with fantastic views of Ramsey Island, which we'll see across the notorious mile-long Ramsey Sound. Ramsey Island has the largest colony of Atlantic grey seals in Southern Britain – about 700 pups are born here every year! Watch out for seals, dolphins and porpoises, as they can often be seen swimming and playing around the coast! Taking in spectacular views of inaccessible coves, natural arches and small off-shore islands, we'll walk past the lovely sheltered harbour at Porthclais, Porthlysgi Bay and the westernmost point of mainland Wales at Pen Dal-aderyn. We'll finish our hike at Whitesands Bay Beach (Blue Flag awarded!), with its wide expanse of fine white sand. We'll then stop for lunch in the UK's smallest city, St David's. You'll have free time to visit the 12th-century St David's Cathedral and buy delicious traditional Welsh cakes from MamGu bakery! 🥞
