The Rocky Mountain AI Interest Group (RMAIIG) will host an in-person meeting in Boulder on Wednesday, January 8th, at 6:00 pm MT on “Compound AI and the Rise of AI Agents.”

Generative AI has been exciting even in its initial form—query and response exchanges with high-powered models. But the future is even more exciting. With AI agent systems, also known as Compound AI systems, individual models are just one element of a collaborative, coordinated workflow which opens up unprecedented possibilities for solving problems in the world. These agents include AI models of varying power, traditional code, APIs, and even humans working alongside machines. Start 2025 by exploring these cutting-edge approaches to automated planning and execution with three pioneering speakers from our community.

We are pleased to announce that Uche Ogbuji is organizing and facilitating the meeting. He is the lead of the RMAIIG AI for Entrepreneurs and Startups (AES) Subgroup and an AI/software/data engineering expert with experience as a consultant, startup founder, and CTO across various industries.

Our first speaker, David Jitendranath, will introduce AI Agents for all audiences, exploring their possibilities in the world of business. How can this new technology lead to Business Scalability? You are invited to picture a world where AI agents and creative generalists work side by side to build tremendous value.

David Jitendranath is an AI Advisor, Technologist, and Entrepreneur with decades of experience in software development, AI, and Solution Architecture. He is a prolific writer and content creator on topics such as Philosophy, AI, Innovation, and Self-Mastery, with content available on YouTube and Substack. David leads the Denver AI subgroup of RMAIIG, which currently boasts over 550 members.

"Enterprise & Industrial Agents in Action" is our second talk, from Kamiwaza.ai, featuring live and recorded demos that highlight real-world applications—Sales Agents, Data Manipulation, Group Decision-Making & Red Teaming, and a dynamic agent used by the Department of Homeland Security to predict critical weather events and correlated damages.

Luke Norris, Co-founder & CEO of Kamiwaza, holds over 15 patents in networking and data technologies and has raised over $100M in venture capital throughout his career.

Matt Wallace, Co-founder and CTO of Kamiwaza, has led multi-cloud ML/AI solutions for some of the largest enterprises in the world. His history in enterprise technology includes authoring the definitive book on VMware security.

Our final speaker, Gabe Spradlin, will provide a brief overview of the current state of AI Agents and demonstrate an agent built from scratch.

Gabe Spradlin is a man of many career transitions— aerospace engineer → solo entrepreneur → software engineer → AI whisperer and consultant. Gabe has three engineering degrees, the most recent being a Computer Science Master’s specializing in Machine Learning (2023). He is the founder of NavGen AI LLC, offering Fractional Chief AI Officer and process automation services.
