==WHAT WE'RE DOING==

The plan is to hike to two of the 4,000 foot peaks in New Hampshire - Garfield and Galehead. We will use Garfield Trail, Garfield Ridge Trail, and Gale River Trail on this one way hike.

If you are interested in participating in this event sign up for the waiting list and answer the question that is part of the RSVP process.

  • RSVPs close 24 hours before the event.
  • The maximum group size will be 12 people.
  • Guests aren't permitted.
  • Dogs are only permitted with prior approval.

We start as a group, hike as a group, and finish as a group. This trip isn't for you if you are fast and don't want to stay with us, if you want to head off on your own, or if you are slow and expect us to constantly wait for you.

On this moderate pace (1.5-2.0 MPH) trip we will hike about 16.6 miles and climb about 4,400 feet. It should take an average hiker about 10 h 30 m to complete this in summer conditions. This event is considered ADVANCED because of the pace, distance, and elevation gain.

Dangerous weather conditions will cancel this event - I will post an update and/or send an email to all confirmed participants.

==WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING==

It's winter - don't show up without winter clothing and gear. Here's what you should have:

==WHERE WE'RE MEETING==

We will meet at the Beaver Brook Parking Area which is located on the south side of Route 3 near Twin Mountain, NH. According to Google Maps this spot is about 148 miles from Boston and it will take about 2 hours 28 minutes to drive there. Since this is where we will end we will leave a few cars here and then drive to the start. Use this link to customize the driving directions:
