From Grand View To Grand View

There are many places in San Francisco that have grand views, but only two places that are so named - so I thought it would be fun to roam to both over the solstice weekend. From Grand View Avenue, you have views over Noe Valley and the Mission to the Bay; from Grand View Park, you can see downtown, Mount Tam, and the ocean.

The last time we tried a similar route, the weather was not kind, and on a previous solstice roam, Grand View Park was fogged in, so hopefully third time lucky with this combination. We will start at the Harvey Milk Academy in the Castro, climb up to Grand View Ave, skirt Twin Peaks and take the Laguna Honda trails over to Forest Hill and the climb up to Grand View Park.

For those who need to get back to the starting point, we will head down to Judah for the streetcar. As you might be able to tell from the route, there is plenty of climbing and off-roading for this one.

Bringing water, snacks, and layers for all the microclimates is the way to go.

Punctuality is always appreciated. Please send a message on the app if you are running a little late. I can usually respond to messages before we get underway, but then I won't be checking my phone. Meetup has now added a "share location" feature, so you will be able to catch up.

I know Meetup is notorious for no-shows and late changes of rsvp. I am not as strict as other organisers, but I do pay attention to those who regularly drop off or no-show, and there are consequences for recidivists, as it is discourteous for others who would like to attend.
