Roaming To Marshall's Beach
Details
Over the years we have had some great visits to Marshall's Beach, so I scan the tide tables to see when we can get down there at the lowest of tides.
This year, the best opportunity is going to be on a Friday; the tide is lowest at 5:40 - and the sun sets at 4:50 (this is pretty much the earliest sunset of the year, as they start getting a little later before the solstice). So we will be hiking back up the Batteries to Bluffs trail in the twilight. Bring some illumination if you feel you need it. This may also run past our typical end time of 5:00 pm.
Being a Friday, we won't venture too far before we head down to the beach. Starting from the Presidio Log Cabin, we will make our way over to Immigrant Point, and take the newly refurbished stairs down to the beginning of the Batteries to Bluffs trail.
Lots of off-roading, sand and rocks for this one, as well as the steep trail down and back up again. But the views will be worth it. This one will likely go ahead even if the forecast is grim. Bring suitable clothes for the weather, plus water, and snacks.
These roams are offered by donation. They are one way I am able to pay my rent in San Francisco.
Punctuality is always appreciated. Please send a message on the app if you are running a little late.
I know Meetup is notorious for no-shows and late changes of rsvp. I am not as strict as other organisers, but I do pay attention to those who regularly drop off or no-show, and there will be consequences for recidivists, as it is discourteous for others who would like to attend.
