Natural language processing is a vital field within data science and machine learning that combines computer science and linguistics to analyze and generate text in the languages we speak. In this talk, we will provide an overview of natural language processing, with a focus on analyzing parts of speech using the spaCy library in Python. We will learn how the process of diagramming sentences translates into the field of natural language processing and analyze freely available texts for differences in language and style across time and fields. By the end of this session, you will have an initial understanding of how to perform natural language analysis in Python.
