Welcome to Rock and Rivers this is a social group to bring Rock Climbing and River running enthusiast together to build community share a common interest and expand in growth and giving back all while being in places of Beauty.
We will meet a few times monthly to cruise rivers and climb at various climbing crags this meetup will also have opportunities for full weekend camping trips!
Disclaimer: Rock climbing and Whitewater River events are inherently dangerous sports and though we take every precaution, injury is always a possibility. If you don't know what's safe, we'll do our best to have enough more experienced participants to have safe events, but in the end it's up to you to practice safe climbing, we take no responsibility. Your Safety is Your Personal Responsibility.
By joining this meeting and participating in events (even if you are not a member, have not officially signed up, or come as a guest of a member), you agree to not hold any event organizers or this meetup group liable for any accidents causing injury or death. Also, all gym and outdoor meetups serve as is a way for people to meet. The organizers and members are not responsible for your safety. We are not a guide service and any instruction you receive, climbing activities, and your and your friends presence at the outdoor crags is solely YOUR assumed risk.

Climbing at Never Winter Wall ☀️Staunton State Park!
Staunton State Park - Meadow Parking Lot, Unnamed Road,, Conifer, CO, USLet's spend the day climbing in beautiful Staunton State Park at the never winter wall, climbs range from 5.7 to 5.13. Lots of easier climbs at this wall.
All abilities welcome! Everyone must at minimum know how to safely top-rope belay and have climbing shoes plus a harness. helmets are now mandatory for climbing and belaying!

We will meet at the Lazy V parking lot at the event time and wait a few minutes for stragglers before beginning the hike. (meet at the tables near the restroom).
This is not a guided event. Everyone is responsible for their own personal safety and liability. Please follow the rules below and be safe!

Partner Check / Safet Check before every climb, even if your climber is more experienced than you!

Know the route before you climb. If you dont know, ask!

Keep your brake hand on the rope at all times, even with assisted braking devices like a GriGri or ATC Pilot.

Communication is key - Keep verbal cues clear and loud enough to hear.

If unsure about cleaning anchors or rappelling, ask an experienced climber.

Follow crag etiquette: quiet voices, share routes, don’t hog climbs.
