Circle Up @ X House in Nyack

Circle Up @ X House is a new mostly-weekly poets circle happening in Nyack. We have a rotating set of facilitators and formats. Each gathering will have a sharing circle where people can read poems of their own or poems they like. We'll also have a writing workshop, editing workshop, performance/delivery workshop, or featured poet, depending on the week.

It'll be happening the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th Thursday of each month.

For Thursday, September 7th, our facilitator will be Bryan. The first half will be a generative/writing workshop; the second half will be a sharing circle. Bring whatever you like to write with -- notebook, paper, tablet, laptop, phone, whatever. Never written a poem before? That's okay, come anyway.

Doors will open at 5:45 PM; event will run from 6 PM to 7 PM.

Admission is on a sliding scale --

$5 general,

$3 students, seniors, and anyone who can't swing $5 right now,

$7+ people who really like us, want to keep the series going, and have some extra money

We take cash, Cash App, Venmo, and PayPal.

The admission money is used to pay the venue, to pay guest facilitators, and to pay featured poets. Any excess beyond that will be used to make up the difference on weeks when attendance is low. Anything beyond *that* will support special programs (like our Rockland Poets High School Poetry Prize) or normal operating expenses (e.g. Meetup.com fee, pens, index cards, our mail box, our text reminder platform, printing flyers).
