Rock The Vote NZ presents Brad Flutey on "My 73-day Prison Hunger Strike"
Well-known and respected freedom fighter, horticulturalist, politician, philosopher, and community and social services professional, Brad Flutey will be talking about his recent experience in prison enduring a 73-day hunger strike.
Arrested and imprisoned for refusing to wear a mask in a shop during the 'pandemic', Brad will be covering the constant attempts in prison to get him to sign documents under duress, harassment and soft torture tactics from guards, and "a totally incompetent medical administration" that refused to treat him when things got dire.
After being admitted to hospital with dehydration and vomiting blood 57 days into his hunger strike, Brad came close to losing the battle to stand up for our human rights, but fortunately, after being returned to prison after his hospital stay to continue serving his sentence, Brad made it through, and he continues to speak out against tyranny and injustice.
You will hear a near complete story of Brad's journey, from the incident that started it all, to its strange, abrupt conclusion.

Michael Moore presents “Planet of the Humans”, a 2019 documentary film written, directed, and produced by Jeff Gibbs.
The film examines mainstream environmental groups' partnerships with billionaires, corporations, and wealthy family foundations in the fight to save the planet. The film questions whether green energy can solve society's expanding resource depletion without reducing consumption and/or population growth, as all existing forms of energy generation require some kind of consumption of finite resources.
Essentially the film questions whether renewable energy sources such as biomass energy, wind power, and solar energy are as clean and renewable as they are portrayed to be.
Join us to view the movie with like-minded people and stay on for a discussion afterwards about it!
