RMNP: Chasm Lake Morning Hike

Details
HIKE DESCRIPTION: Chasm Lake is a classic, must-do Colorado hike. We’ll get incredible views while traversing the subalpine forest up to the alpine tundra. The lake sits below the spectacular Long’s Peak, the highest peak in the park. We ll start at Long’s Peak Trailhead and hike along the Long’s Peak Trail.
After a steady climb, we’ll reach the beautiful alpine environment above the tree line. Stunning views and a challenging terrain are highlights of this hike. There are slippery snow and steep sections as challenges. Lake itself is above the treeline.
Most likely we will have to cross a couple of snow patches in early June. Microspikes and hiking poles are required for this hike. DOGS are NOT allowed in RMNP.
HIKE STATS: Difficulty: Hard. Distance: 8.2 miles. Elevation gain: 2,552 feet. Highest elevation: 11,800 feet

MEETING UP: The trailhead parking is small and popular due to it being the trailhead for Long' s Peak as well. There is additional parking on the side of the road. The trails are popular and the parking lot usually fills up early. We plan to meet at the trailhead but depending on the group size/number of obtained timed entry permits we might decide to carpool from close by parking.
PARK ENTRANCE FEE: To get an access to the park, we need a daily ticket (per car, can be purchased at the ticket booth) or America The Beautiful Pass(could be purchased at the ticket booth or online). We do not need a timed entry pass as we enter the park before 9 am. I have America The Beautiful pass.
IMPORTANT: Please, review the group bio for what you should bring to the hike and other important information. MICROSPIKES AND HIKING POLES ARE REQUIRED on this hike. We wait 5 minutes for late arrive to be considerate to those arriving on time.
