May 14 Boulder Synthesizer Meetup - Happy 30th Birthday MIDI

MIDI recently turned 30! Rick Reid had a fantastic idea for a birthday bash as the theme for the next meetup. Here is how it’s going to work.
7:00-7:15 Welcome + Order Up Food and Drink
7:15-7:30 Announcements
7:30-8:15 MIDI Device Show-and-Tell - Each person brings 1 MIDI enabled sound source or controller or sequencer. So anything with a MIDI IN/OUT including a laptop or mobile solution as long as you can accommodate a MIDI cable for connectivity at the event. We don’t have room for too much gear so I’ll ask you to pick 1 fav. You should also plan to be able to setup the device very quickly. We'll go around the room and do a rapid-fire show-and-tell which each person will 2 minutes to describe what they brought and why they like it. I’ll have a timer :^)
8:15-8:50 The Great Boulder Synth Meetup Device Chaining Extravaganza + Socializing - After show-and-tell, Rick and I will lead a group exercise to brainstorm some fun devices chains and we'll make some noise through the meetup PA. I say group exercise because I thought it would be more fun to do a group project rather than just have a cacophony of sound coming from every corner of the meeutp.
8:50-9:00 Wrapup, Voting & Giveaway - I'll have official swag from the MIDI Manufacturer's association store on hand – so after the show-and-tell we’ll vote on the following and award prizes:
• Best DIY MIDI device
• Oldest MIDI device (determined by any date markings on the item or its manual)
• Weirdest MIDI device
• Most innovative MIDI device
