Skeptics in the Pub (At Dorset Pub, note that the name used to be Donegal's)

Skeptics in the Pub Calgary has been running monthly since 2008! Our pub night includes a short presentation on a skeptical or religious topic and plenty of time to mingle and meet other atheists, humanists, skeptics, and overall great people.

This month's topic: Quebec's Bill 21 - "An Act respecting the laicity of the State," which prohibits certain public sector employees such as teachers, police officers, and judges from wearing religious symbols while performing their duties.

As always we will present multiple viewpoints and encourage a lively discussion.

This event will take place at The Dorset Pub (https://www.thedorset.ca/ , Map Link, at 17th Ave SW and 37th St SW, Westbrook LRT). We are hopeful that this new location will make conversation easier and allow for presentations in the future as well. We are also moving to a 7PM start. But you are welcome to arrive early, or late!

We are an inclusive community of atheists, humanists, skeptics and secular freethinkers who welcome people of all backgrounds and identities.

We won't all agree all the time, but disagreement is no excuse for disrespectful behavior. Disagreements should be resolved in a constructive manner and without personal attacks. Challenge ideas not people. Do not insult or put down other participants. Harassment and other exclusionary behavior aren’t acceptable.
