Join us for a movie and a discussion on the 4th Monday of each month.
It will be interesting, informative and/or make you think! This will be online via Zoom.

In spite of (or perhaps party because of) Cuba's spectacular natural beauty and climate, Cuba has had a rough history. It was the first place in the New World to be visited by Columbus, and Spain lost no time in colonizing it. Starting in the mid-1800's, there were numerous battles for independence, which was finally achieved in 1902. However, corruption, rebellions, uprisings and military coups continued, some supported by the US. Castro's revolution in 1959 had the goal of independence, but instead became heavily dependent on the USSR. This resulted in extreme contention with the US, including the Bay of Pigs, the Soviet Missile Crisis, the Cuban Embargo, and the current dire circumstance.
