RMA Online Movie Night: 9/11 Conspiracy Theories Debate
Details
NOTE the change in date, which is for this event only. Future movie nights will go back to being on the 4th Monday of each month.
This will be online via Zoom.
The 9/11 attacks occurred 25 years ago, but the debate over what happened has not abated. Tonight we will watch a debate between Jonathan Kay and Webster Tarpley, which is about 90 minutes long.
Mr. Kay is the author of Among the Truthers: A Journey Through America's Growing Conspiracist Underground. For two years he attended conventions of conspiracy theorists, read their websites, joined their Facebook groups, and interviewed them in an effort to understand their beliefs and motivations.
Mr. Tarpley is a self-described 9/11 Truth Scholar and one of the people featured in Mr. Kay's book. He is the author of 9/11 Synthetic Terror: Made in USA, and maintains that the September 11 attacks were engineered by a rogue network of the military-industrial complex and intelligence agencies as a false-flag operation.
The debate was moderated David Frum, who was a special assistant to President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2002.

Another debate, which won't be shown but may be of interest, is between two of the people involved in producing Spare Change, a video attacking the official events of 9/11, and two of the people who produced Popular Mechanics' book "Debunking 9/11 Myths: Why Conspiracy Theories Can’t Stand Up to the Facts.” .
