1,000 miles 3 nights/ 4 Day trip. The Kebler Pass is the route as long road conditions are good time of trip, otherwise Hwy 50 Detour. We will make that call while at Crested Butte.

  1. Kebler Pass Hwy 12 between Crested Butte (look at route images). Bob Melton says this packed dirt and paved in some sections. Certainly Passable on Motorcycle unless there is heavy rain which could make it muddy.
  2. Hwy 50 Detour (look at route image). Hwy 149 and CR 26 to bypass the Hwy 50 bridge closure. This could be busy as 26 unpaved and will be using pilot cars during closure. See CDOT link here.

Either Option will include Cottonwood pass, Crested Butte, Colorado National Monument (outside Grand Junction) and scenic 141 & 550 to Durango. Stays: Day 1) Crested Butte Day 2) Grand Junction Day 3) Durango Day 4) back to Denver.

TIP: You can download the .GPX file from the H-D site above.
The H-D Trip Planner can be annoying as it shows Dealer locations by default that can cover up the highlighted route, just click the [SHOW ON MAP] button and uncheck to remove the icons for a better experience.
