The Range of Light Group, Earthworks, and Great Basin Resource Watch are presenting on the impacts of gold mines and exploratory drilling in the Bodie Hills in the Eastern Sierra. Learn what the impacts have been with two gold exploration projects that have started and what the impacts will be with four more gold exploration projects: one that has been approved, one in the planning phase, and two being proposed.
These projects just keep on coming as the price of gold keeps going up. It was more than $3,400 an ounce on May 6, 2025. While some people will be hoarding gold as a cushion against a possible economic collapse, the majority of us will lose something much more valuable... a huge chunk of the Bodie Hills including Brawley Peaks with its stunning vistas of the region. The peaks are on a path to becoming an ugly open pit, cyanide heap-leached gold mine. We can't let that happen. To find out more, join me for a presentation on the six gold exploration projects.
