Once a fortress, Sgurgola today stands as a quaint village, tightly encircling the remnants of its castle, offering a glimpse into its storied past.
As you hike through Sgurgola, you’ll not only experience the
breathtaking landscapes of the Sacco Valley but also immerse yourself in

Experience the wild side of Lazio, about one hour outside of
Rome and conveniently accessible by train.
🥾 Start at the Sgurgola Train station, making our way first up to
Sgurgola town. From here we’ll enter the forest, and embark on our
journey uphill, encountering the secrets hidden within this forest.
