DONT'FORGET- Manhattan Libertarian Annual Convention is tomorrow Jan 17 11:am

Just a last reminder that tomorrow, Jan 17 is the big day.

This is the start of a huge political year with scores of City level races, a new President, soaring City, State and Federal deficits, tax increases, health care socialization.... The list goes on. And for a change the media is all over City and State government for corruption and generally terrible standards of government.

As the welfare, warfare state crumbles the libertarian movement and the MLP in particular is positioned to have it's biggest year ever. We are ending 2008 with record membership and tremendously more active engaged participants. Our partnership with our good friends at Campaign for Liberty has worked superbly and it promises to work even better this year with many more experienced activists and candidates.

If there was ever a year to get involved this is it.

The business meeting starts at 11am. If you aren't already registered please show up between 10:30 and 11 to register. We will elect new officers, potentially make bylaw changes and who knows what other surprises may emerge. The business meeting is free and all are welcome, however you must be a member in good standing ( that is, $15 paid up) to vote. There will be at least a few big changes in officers so if you want to shape the future of the chapter it's important we have your vote.

At approximately 12:30pm we will start the lunch buffet and the speaker programs ($49) starts about 1:30. The speaker program this year is absolutely great including, NY LP Chair Eric Sundwall, Economist Cameron Weber (on the failure of Keynesianism), Alan Gura who argued the Heller case to the US Supreme Court and won a watershed victory for the 2nd Amendment, and Adam Kokesh, controversial member of Iraq Veterans Against the War.

I am really excited about this years's convention. I hope you will be able to attend.

See you tomorrow.
