Help get out the vote for Washington County, ME

Help get out the vote for Washington County, ME

Details

Washington County, ME, eastern-most county, is having its caucus Feb. 18th. It is the largest caucus that has not voted yet, and they potentially have enough votes there to still have Ron Paul win the state, even though the state Republican party has announced Mitt Romney as the winner. Let's organize a carpool from New Hampshire, and travel up (it's about 5 hours from the NH-ME border to the eastern stretches of Washington County). I suggest we focus on the largest cities and towns in Washington county. The county has 32,000 people. The five largest settlements are: Calais, 3,200 Eastport, 1,500 Machias, 1,300 Jonesport, 1,100 Woodland, 1,000 There are also some smaller towns west of Machias with around 700 or 800 people. We might also send some people to the towns that are a LOOOONG ways from the county caucus site in East Machias. The two farthest, major towns are Danforth and Topsfield. The people there may be reluctant to travel that far (it's got to be a more than 2 hour drive from Danforth). I am planning to go for sure, if I can arrange a place to stay. I grew up mostly in Maine, including 5 years in Calais, and I had my picture in the paper a few times while attending Calais High, where I graduated. I figure the best thing I can do for this Get Out The Vote is to go there and knock on doors. I sure wouldn't mind passengers who wanted to chip in some gas money.
