About us

Room to Matter is a community for people in Amsterdam who want to build deeper, more meaningful connections, not just attend another one-off social event.

We create small group experiences where everyone is welcome to join solo. Rather than meeting once and moving on, the same group comes together across a series of gatherings, giving new connections the time and space to grow naturally.

Each series combines different ways of connecting, such as:

🌿 Storytelling and meaningful conversation
🎨 Open, free-form creative experiences
🧘 Mindful movement, yoga and reflection

There is no pressure to be outgoing, creative or experienced. Just come as you are, take part at your own pace and be open to meeting others beyond small talk.

Room to Matter is designed mainly for people in their mid-20s to mid-30s, although this is a general guide rather than a strict age limit. Internationals and Dutch locals are equally welcome.

Come alone. Meet the same small group. See what can grow. Click Here to know more!

    ## This October, in collaboration with The Blue Marble, we’re bringing together two small groups of up to 8 people for a 4-part experience built around different ways of connecting.

The first three sessions are spent with the same small group, giving you the chance to see familiar faces again and build connection over time. For the final event, both groups come together for one shared closing evening.

    What to expect
The series starts with storytelling and conversation games with Chirok House, followed by a relaxed open art session and a friendly, beginner-friendly padel game.
We’ll then bring both groups together for a movie night and discussion with Movies for the Planet.
No need to bring a friend! In fact, the series is created especially for people coming solo.
A few things to know before registering 💌
    🎟️ One ticket, four experiences
Your ticket includes all four sessions of the October series. You only need to register once to join the full experience.
📅 Come for the whole journey
The idea behind Room to Matter is to bring the same small group together across different experiences, giving everyone the time and space to get to know each other.
To make this possible, we ask that you only register if you can commit to attending all four sessions.
👥 How are the groups formed?
We’ll create two small groups based on the information shared during registration, aiming for a mix of personalities and interests that allows everyone to feel comfortable and connect naturally.
To make sure you don’t miss out on the experience, please keep both Tuesday and Wednesday evenings free! We'll let you know which group you've been assigned to after your registration is confirmed. You will be then invited to whatsapp groups for more info!
