Join us for Silver Senders — a free, welcoming, low-impact climbing session designed specifically for adults 55 and older who want to stay active, improve balance, and discover something new (and surprisingly fun).
Climbing isn’t just about pulling hard or scaling big walls — it’s about movement, curiosity, and community.

You’ll learn how to move confidently on the wall and find stability through gentle, full-body motion. No experience needed. No pressure. Just exploration, laughter, and the joys of being outdoors!

What We’ll Do
1️⃣ Warm Welcome (10 min)
Introductions and setting intentions for the day along with questions, comments or concerns.
2️⃣ Lesson (20 min)
Learn how to fit a harness, belay, tie in, and move efficiently on the wall. We’ll cover techniques like maintaining three points of contact and balance awareness.
3️⃣ Movement Practice (30 min)
Practice easy real rock climbs with expert guidance. Climb as much or as little as you’d like — it’s about comfort and connection, not height.
4️⃣ Cool Down & Chat (15 min)
Gentle stretching, tea, and social time to reflect on what felt empowering or surprising.

Who’s Leading
Hosted by Matt King, climbing educator and founder of Rope Wranglers, with nearly 20 years of experience teaching all ages how to climb safely, joyfully, and with purpose.

Why I’m Doing This
I’ve spent nearly twenty years teaching people of all ages how to climb — from kids taking their first steps on the wall to seasoned athletes refining their craft. Over the years, I’ve seen how climbing helps people rediscover confidence, balance, and joy in their bodies.
But I’ve also noticed that many older adults are left out of that experience. I want to change that.
Climbing has something powerful to offer at every stage of life — a sense of play, connection, and capability that never has to fade. This class is my way of helping more people discover that truth.

🌤️ Weather Note
Climbing is best when it’s fun, relaxed, and dry!
If the weather looks poor (rain, strong wind, or unsafe temps), the event will be canceled or rescheduled to keep things enjoyable and safe for everyone.
Please check the Meetup page for updates — I’ll do my best to make any weather call at least 2 hours before the event.
