Guided Bird Walk @ Rose Creek (FREE)
Details
Join us for a collaboration between the San Diego Bird Alliance and the Friends of Rose Creek as we explore the birds of the Rose Creek Salt Marsh and upstream habitat.
The Snow Birds are returning. These bird summer in Alaska and Canada, but prefer to hang out in San Diego for the winter. In October a few American Wigeons and Blue-winged teals have already been spotted. I wonder what other species will be at Rose Creek by November 15th?
LOCATION CHANGE: We are heading back to Mission Bay High. Find us in the parking lot on the east side of the school adjacent to Grand Avenue and overlooking the creek. Additional parking is available on eastbound Grand Avenue on the weekends.
Stay for as long or as short as you wish. We usually have the best bird sightings around sunset!
Kyle will be our guide this month.
Low tide will be at 12:38 PM PT and is a 1.07 ft tide. Sunset is at 4:47 PM. Bring a jacket as it may be cool as the sun drops or earlier depending on the weather.

ROSE CREEK is a birding hot spot in the north east corner of Mission Bay. Check out the latest sightings on eBird. A treasure in Pacific Beach, the creek and salt marsh is popular with Bikers on the East side, a quiet, shaded walking path on the West side.
LOCATION CHANGE: We are meeting at Mission Bay High School this month.
If you can can, download Kyle’s bird list ahead of time and see how many birds on the list you spot.
Bring binoculars if you have them, good walking shoes and check the weather before you come. We will have a few extra pairs of binoculars for attendees, but supplies are limited.
Want to know what we may see if we are lucky. Check out these great photos from past bird walks.
