Discourse: The Mystical Power of Song
presented by Master Jen Smith, SRC.
Ritual: Installation of new Archivist
"What did humanity’s first vocal intonation sound like? To answer this question, let us think of a mother of prehistoric times who is trying to calm a baby that is frightened by a storm or some other imminent danger. We can imagine that she rocks her baby, knowing the calming effect of such an act, while intoning soft and reassuring vocal sounds."
