Build Beds for Kids
SHP Barn (near Crosswinds Church), 1660 Freisman Rd, Livermore, CA, USDescription
We’re putting together a Lamorinda Sunrise Rotary volunteer team for another Build Beds for Kids project on September 12. We did this back in February, and it was one of our most popular volunteer activities.We’ll be working with Sleep in Heavenly Peace to build twin-size beds for local children who don’t have a bed of their own. The goal for the day is to build 100 beds. No woodworking experience is necessary.
There are stations for sanding, drilling, assembly and other jobs.
Volunteers can also sign up separately to help deliver completed beds to local families on a future date—something past volunteers have found especially rewarding.

- Check-in starts at 8:15 am.
- Please wear closed-toe shoes. Safety equipment such as gloves, masks, goggles and earplugs is available on site.
- Please park in the Crosswinds Church parking lot and walk across the bridge to the last barn on the right.

Sleep In Heavenly Peace is a non-profit organization that builds and delivers beds to children ages 3-17 who currently sleep on the floor, couch or with a sibling. Their mission is that "no kid sleeps on the floor in our town!" Most beds from this chapter are distributed in Alameda County.6 attendees
