What we're about

What’s a Rotary Club?

Rotary is a global network of over 1.2 million community volunteers. Rotary members are business and professional people who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards, and help build goodwill, peace and understanding in the world.

Founded in 1905 in Chicago, today, there are some 33,000 Rotary clubs in more than 200 countries carry out service projects in their local communities and abroad to address such critical issues as health, hunger, illiteracy, water, youth and the environment.

Rotary is comprised of people from all races, religions, and nationalities. When one joins Rotary and becomes a Rotarian, you become a part of a worldwide fraternity in the Rotary family. You can travel throughout most of the world and find a Rotary Club within easy distance. Rotarians will welcome you warmly, even though the language may be different, the food unusual, and the location far from home.

Who are we?

We are a club Rotary Club in Washington, DC. We were chartered by Rotary International on December 18, 2013 and held our Charter Night Celebration on February 21, 2014. Here's your opportunity to become a member and be part of the world's oldest, largest and finest service organization.

***You do not have to be 30 years old to be a Rotarian. Our Rotarians range from ages 21 years old to 50's years old. 95% of our Rotarians are under the age of 40 with majority of our Rotarians are in our 20's and 30's. All welcomed!

***Our weekly Rotary programs are FREE for all visiting Rotarians (local and international), potential members and guests.
