Let's head to the great outdoors, photograph some amazing landscapes, and hopefully some wildlife. We are headed to visit a few unique locations for nature and wildlife photography in the Texas Panhandle and Southwest Oklahoma. Who knows we might even get to see some late season white stuff along the way. (Safety first)

In Texas, we will visit Copper Breaks, Caprock Canyons, and Palo Duro Canyon State Parks. Then we will head over to western Oklahoma to explore the Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge.

The rough itinerary is as follows:
February 25th - We can meet at a convenient location to caravan OR meet up at our first destination in Vernon TX for lunch and some brief local photography - afternoon at Copper Breaks State Park, Hotel in Childress

February 26th - Drive to Caprock Canyons State Park, lunch in nearby Quitaqua (and some brief local photography), drive to Palo Duro Canyon State Park for the afternoon and evening. Hotel in Canyon, TX

February 27th - Drive to Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge, Hotel in Medicine Park

February 28th - All day in Wichita Mountains NWR, same hotel

February 29th - Head home

This will be a five (5) day trip, and we will be on the move from location to location with ample time to explore, look for wildlife and take way too many photographs.

We will have time to explore early mornings and late afternoons when wildlife is more active. There will be opportunities for auto tours or light hiking depending upon your interests. In some cases, there are great opportunities for astral photography as well. Your level of participation can easily be tailored to fit your interests. The only requirement is to keep me informed, so we can keep track of each other for safety.

We will try to stay together as much as possible and eat together to share our experiences as we go.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a professional tour guide, but I have been to some of these places, but mostly, I am exploring these locations for the first time.

Once you sign up on Meetup, I will invite you to our official "Out of State Travel Group" on Facebook. There I will upload details of our itinerary and any other information that cannot be uploaded to Meetup. I have booked my hotel stays and they are included in the detailed itinerary in this special FB group.

I will need each participant's mobile number so I can add you to a special text group that we will use for instant communications and updates for our team.

It is VERY important that if your plans change and you are unable to participate, please be sure and update your RSVP in the Meetup application.

Hope you can join us!
