RTPC Monthly Daytime Photo Walk

I am sorry to say that although I've planned to over the years, I still have never visited the Sixth Floor Museum (https://www.jfk.org/) so decided that would make a good indoor destination on a HOT day for our August walk and will minimize our time outdoors. I know some don't like museums, but those of us who have gone on our museum expeditions have seemed to enjoy them!
Please meet at the Rowlett DART station ON THE TRAIN PLATFORM at 9:45 am in order to ride the train that leaves at 9:56 am. We should arrive at the West End Station at 10:36 am so if you want to ride a DART train from another location, please plan your arrival at the West End Station as close as possible to 10:36 am. We will walk three blocks to the Sixth Floor Museum at 411 Elm Street and should arrive there about 10:45 am so if you are driving and parking downtown, plan to meet about 10:45 inside the museum.
Tickets can be purchased online ahead of time or may be available there; you will save a couple of bucks by purchasing online and ensure there will be a ticket available for the time slot. Online prices are $22 Adult and $20 Senior (65+) plus $1 service fee. Onsite prices are $25 and $23. Please purchase a ticket for the 11:00-11:30 am entrance.
To see the entire museum, it is suggested you allow 90 minutes so that should give us a lunch time of about 12:45 - 1:00. We will have lunch at a place called Chet's Dallas, located at 208 N. Market St., which is right at the West End Station so will be convenient for catching the train after lunch. It is an Irish pub style place with good reviews and a good variety of salads, entrees, sandwiches, etc.
I understand if museums aren't your thing, you may not be interested in this month's walk. There appears to be no restriction on photography unless expressly prohibited of certain displays, other than no flash, which is standard. Tripods aren't mentioned, but I'm sure aren't welcomed.
Now for some courtesy requests! PLEASE comment if you are meeting us at the West End Station or at the museum so we will know whether to wait for you. PLEASE CHANGE YOUR RSVP if you are NOT going as it is frustrating waiting for people who sign up and don't show up.
