What we’re about
NOTE: This local group is currently inactive, but don't despair! We are searching for a local host. You are welcome at any of the meetings listed. All the events listed here are active RfR virtual events (identified as "Network event") or are meetings cross-posted from other local groups.
We strive to serve as many areas as possible, but we do not have enough volunteers to handle them all. If you are interested in helping to host a meeting in your area, feel free to post a comment here in Meetup, or go to recoveringfromreligion.org/volunteer to apply.
What Recovering from Religion is about:
The primary focus of Recovering from Religion is to provide practical and personal support to individuals as they question and possibly choose to let go of their religious beliefs. This transitional period is an ongoing process that can result in a range of emotions, as well as a ripple effect of consequences throughout an individual's life.
We are here to help you through this journey!

This week on RfRx, RfR Volunteer Nick Dallett joins us to share four disciplines for having difficult conversations. Nick has spent much of his 25 years as a software professional learning how people can communicate better, and has applied what he's learned to become a better manager and friend. In this talk, Nick will share how a simple interaction on Twitter led to a greater understanding of how to have great conversations, and what that can teach you about how to get better at coping when stakes are high and things get spicy.
Nick hosts a weekly podcast called Conversations on the Coast and is a regular contributor to the Sound Epistemology YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@SoundEpistemology
The first hour will be the topic discussion, followed by a Q&A session in which you can ask the guests your great questions. After the Q&A we’ll open up the lines for everyone and just talk and hangout for a bit with the hosts and guest(s). For RfRx comments, inquiries & topical questions, email us at RfRx@recoveringfromreligion.org.
