Early bird gets the waterfalls without the tourist traffic!🚴‍♀️

Details

Join me on this classic waterfall ride. Temperatures are forecasted to moderate by Friday.

With the Scenic Highway closed at Larch Mtn, we will start our ride at the Bridal Veil Falls parking lot. By leaving early we avoid much of the tourist traffic.

IMPORTANT: Take exit 28 off of Interstate 84, but Do Not park at Angel’s Rest. Continue west on Hwy 30 a mile or so to Bridal Veil State Park. Look for my red Honda CRV.

We will first ascend to Crown Point, 4.4 miles/656 ft elevation gain.

From there, we will reverse back down Hwy 30 past several waterfalls to Horsetail Falls.

We will regroup at Crown Point and at Horsetail Falls.

You can continue on beyond Horsetail if you choose, return to Bridal Veil parking lot, or do a second climb up to Crown Point, adding about 10 miles/748 ft to the posted version below.

Optional coffee/Italian Soda/snacks at Rivertrails Cafe in Troutdale after the ride.

Be sure to check the GPS if you have not done this route previously. I am posting the short version below.

There are restrooms at Bridal Veil, Multnomah Falls, and several other scenic areas.

BE READY TO RIDE AT 8:15 AM.

If you sign up for this ride, send me your mobile # for communication: Marcy @ 503-539-9226

Cancellation Policy: I will cancel if weather is wet, or excessively hot or windy.
Required Gear: HELMETS must be worn at all times while riding. This is a requirement and not a request.
Recommended Gear: Bring plenty of water, food, flat repair kit, with a spare tube. A tool kit and small pump is good, but if you don’t have one there is usually someone on a group ride who does. Please check to see if someone has what you might need if you don't and be prepared to ride a bus or call a cab. (Not that we'll leave you by the road broken down, because that's not us). Carry a credit card and a little cash to buy refreshments or buy that bus ticket....
Absolutely no earbuds allowed.
