Tue, May 19 · 6:30 PM CDT
Join us on the 3rd Tuesday May 19th for the next ruby.mn meetup at Lab651. Doors open around 6:30pm.
Lab651 is at:
550 Vandalia St Suite 231
St Paul, MN
What we're doing:
Sessionizer is the open-source Rails app Minnestar uses to run Minnebar. The legendary Matt Decuir will give a brief overview of the Sessionizer and then we'll have a short hackathon to chip away at the backlog.
The plan is roughly:
6:30pm - Doors open at Lab651
7:00pm - Sessionizer Hacking
8:00pm+ - Optional: keep going, or head downstairs to Lake Monster Brewing to hang out.
~5-10 min: Sessionizer overview from Matt, which issues to pick up, how PRs will be handled
The rest: pair up, mob, or work solo on issues
Before attending:
To avoid spending the whole night on setup, please clone and get the app running locally beforehand if you want to code:
Repo: https://github.com/minnestar/sessionizer
Follow the README setup instructions
Confirm you can run the test suite
Matt will share a short list of pre-vetted good first issues at the start of the night. Please pick from that list rather than freelancing on the broader backlog.
Don't want to code? Totally fine. Come hang out and join us downstairs at Lake Monster.
