Special Memorial Service In Remembrance of Paul Fioravanti

With a heavy heart, we regret to inform you that a valued member of our community, Paul ⌨️ Fioravanti, passed away peacefully after a brief battle with cancer.

In place of the regular Sydney RORO Meetup we are planning a memorial service to be held on Tuesday April 8th (Venue Mable Head Office | Level 12, 255 Pitt Street , Sydney) where we will honour Paul & his life. We want to provide an opportunity for community to come together positively, support each other and recall the many good memories Paul has left behind. Your attendance at this special event would be greatly welcomed. We are also keen to hear from friends and colleagues who would like to say some words to honour his memory. About Paul
Paul was a significant contributor to our community, both through his work and his personal interactions.
For many years he organised RORO Sydney as well as other meetups, notably Elixir Sydney amongst others. He mentored at Rails Girls, spoke at meetings and conferences, and provided technical expertise to conference organisers.
He was always willing to lend a helping hand, offering his support freely whenever asked.
Paul was warm and welcoming to everyone he met, offering his assistance to anyone with questions. To many, he was a trusted source of advice and guidance, never criticising regardless of the depth of the discussion.
Paul had expressed his wish to avoid a formal funeral, and we respect the wishes of his family. We extend our deepest condolences to them and to all who knew Paul.
For those wishing to share memories or acknowledge how Paul impacted either the Ruby community or your personal journey, we ask you to share your reflections in this space.
These tributes will be made available to Paul's loved ones at a later date.
