Curious about extending Revit beyond out-of-the-box tools? This session introduces pyRevit, a powerful and free plugin for enhancing everyday Revit workflows, and shows how AI chatbots, such as ChatGPT**,** can lower the barrier to custom tool creation.
Whether you’re new to pyRevit or ready to take the next step, this session will explore commonly used and practical pyRevit tools, followed by a novice-friendly, step-by-step walkthrough of creating a custom Revit button using AI.

Learning Objectives

• Identify what pyRevit is, where to obtain it, and explain how it integrates with Revit to extend everyday workflows beyond out-of-the-box tools.
• Recognize a selection of commonly used pyRevit tools and describe how they can be applied to improve efficiency in Revit tasks.
• Understand how AI tools, such as ChatGPT, can support a beginner-friendly approach to customization by:
• Understanding the basic pyRevit extension and folder structure
• Assisting in the creation of a simple custom pyRevit tool and toolbar button
