What we’re about

This is a group for anyone who wants to combine running with supporting mental health. Changes Bristol is a grass roots mental health charity which provides free and open access Sharing Circles across Bristol for people suffering mental distress. These support groups take place same every single week of the year, across Bristol and are open for anyone (no referral or diagnosis required).

As a small charity we need help raising awareness and funds to run our support groups so we have launched our first ever Running Team and have got charity places on the following local events:

Bath Half Marathon on the 15th March 2020. For more information check out the following link to our website: https://changesbristol.org.uk/bath-half-marathon/

Bristol 10K challenge on May 3rd 2020 https://changesbristol.org.uk/bristol-10k/

NightRider Bristol 20th June 2020 https://changesbristol.org.uk/nightrider/

Join this meet up if you are interested in running and fundraising for Changes Bristol. We will organise training runs where we will meet up and train together, provide fundraising tips and advice as well as a snazzy Changes Bristol running vest/t-shirt personalised with your own name so that everyone can cheer you on!

We all know running is great therapy for your mental health, so even if you've never considered it before, give it a go to see the difference it makes to your mood and outlook!

TRAINING

Thinking about taking part in the Bristol 10k? Here's a 6 week training plan for 10k

This training plan is designed for new or lapsed runners looking to comfortably complete a 10k distance without worrying about how long it will take.

It will mix walking, jogging and some running to help you feel a fitter individual and build confidence in yourself ahead of your 10k.

Get in touch with us at Changes Bristol to find out more or join our Facebook running group to stay in touch!
