A fun group meets Sundays at 8 AM in Albany, at the Suzette Crepe Cafe, 1226 Solano (above Talbot). They split into a 6-8 mile run for experienced runners, and a 3 mile run/walk for beginners, all followed by coffee and crepes. Outdoor Playgroup Fitness Class in Berkeley (Ocean View Park) WE MEET MONDAY, WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY AT 10AM AT OCEAN VIEW PARK. EVERY SATURDAY WE WELCOME ALL FAMILIES FOR A FUN WORKOUT AT 9AM AT OCEAN VIEW PARK. Finally a chance a get a great workout in, with your baby/toddler/young kids in tow! This class is designed to help you get fit and toned, create lasting friendships and become proud of your body again. Combining running (with or without your stroller) and toning resistance band exercises. Our workouts take place in a safe contained space where toddlers form friendships through playing together. Babies sit in the stroller or lay on a yoga mat with their moms during core work. Take breaks any time to calm, feed or change your baby. We are all moms, we get it! These workouts will give you the endurance you need to tackle the rigors of motherhood head-on! ALL abilities welcome: We meet each mom wherever they are currently at in their fitness journey. First Class FREE, thereafter drop-in options or monthly memberships are available. NOTE: This group run is cancelled/postponed until the COVID-19 scare subsides. Please feel free to run this course alone with appropriate social distancing. Watch here for updates in April. Ellen This is a small weekly run that's been going on since about 2001 for people of all speeds including walkers. We meet at 6:30am sharp. Then we split up into smaller groups based on preferred speed and distance. Slower runners and walkers welcome. Distances: 4-5-6 or even 8 miles depending on your route. Most of us run along the perimeter and some run into McLaughlin East Bay State Park or even Berkeley Aquatic Park. Most of us finish @7:30am and some go for a quick coffee at Peet's on 4th Street, Berkeley. Depending on your speed and distance, you may end up running alone (especially speed demons), but you will have company at the beginning and end. Please join us!
[ON HIATUS DUE TO CORONAVIRUS] Join the BRC for a trail run! This run is intended for beginning runners who want to try the trails. The run will be 30 minutes long, at a leisurely pace. Hills, if any, will be gentle. We start punctually, so if you need to stretch or do a warm-up, do that beforehand. Please be self-sufficient. If you'd like to run more, stick around for the 6:30PM meetup, where there are ample opportunities for distance, speed, and hills.
