Headlands and Mt Tam Parklands: The Missing Link, 14-15 mi (~2500' gain)
Details
Join us for a 14 to 15-mile hilly trail run (~2500' gain)*. Varied terrain and awesome coastal views, optional recovery beer, what more could you ask for? Quality aerobic uphills, fun (more gradual) downhills. The route links together GGNRA/Marin Headlands and Mt. Tam State Park.
Route Map link here: http://files.meetup.com/948670/Missing%20Link.jpg .
Water fountain at mile 10-ish (Cardiac Hill, or add ~1 mile detour to get to bathroom at Pantoll). New - I'm also planning to stash some water at ~ mile 4.5 (but you need something to drink it out of). Route: Middle Green Gulch, Coyote Ridge, Miwok, Deer Park / Dipsea, Coastal View Trail, Heather Cutoff, Redwood Creek (counterclockwise).
Lunch at Pelican Inn (short walk from our parking spot) afterwards for those that want to chow down and/or have a draft beer. http://www.pelicaninn.com/food/

Requirements (for the safety and enjoyment of all):
(1) Water and fuel/electrolytes
(2) Marked trail map and sense of direction/ability to get back to the starting point (link below). I'll bring some extra copies, but have a look online ahead of time.
(3) Plenty of positive attitude so that you can finish with a smile.
(4) You are responsible for your own health and safety and to know your limitations, this is not a leader-led event per se, just an group run that you may opt to join.
*Not for beginning trail runners.
