Sundays @ the Plateau
Details
This week we are hiking from the Vernal Pools trail head at the Santa Rosa Plateau up to Monument HIll. This is a 6-ish mile hike with the trek up Monument Hill being the "hardest" part. It's a hill, but it's not horrible or steep. Most of the trails are wide and not technical, although you will encounter some rocks along the way. Three hours is probably more time than it will actually take but allows time for pictures, etc. It is longer than most of our hikes, so I've set the start time a little earlier. I hope this will work for everyone!
Hikers of all ages and fitness levels are welcome; sorry, no doggies are allowed on this trail.
Location: **Vernal Pools trail head parking lot is past the Visitor’s Center entrance on Clinton Keith, around the curve; at the curve, Clinton Keith becomes Tenaja Road. Follow Tenaja Road past the Sylvan Meadows/Hidden Valley trail heads, continuing after the stop sign at Rancho California Road. Tenaja Road becomes Via Volcano a little before the stop sign. The Vernal Pools trail head will be on your left-hand side about a mile after the stop sign.
