Rehearsals starting for Russian Folk Music Group

ловкие пальцы (Clever Fingers) is a newly forming San Francisco Russian/Ukrainian folk group for musicians interested in learning and playing the ethnic folk songs and dance music of the Slavic countries. Call Darcy at 415-412-1414 for more information. Rehearsals will be in a private home in the Outer Richmond District of San Francisco on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, beginning January 9, 2025, 7:30-10:00 PM. We are especially interested in typical acoustic folk instruments such as domras, balalaikas, guitars, bayans, garmoshkas, accordions, etc. All skill levels welcome, but we will be using sheet music, so the ability to read music and play basic chords will be very useful. Founders Nick and Darcy have many years’ experience performing in folk groups such as the Massenkoff Russian Folk Festival, Neva Russian Dance Ensemble, Periloff Dance Ensemble, Khadra International Folk Ballet, Joe Smiell’s Bavarian Band, and others.
