Update: Elevator code 31422

We are back with a fresh new meetup for the month of August!

For this month we'll have Jack Pertschuk talk to us about Rewriting a high performance Vector Database in Rust.

In Jack's words: I'll explore how and why we abandoned Python and C++ and rewrote the Pinecone vector database in Rust and the challenges and struggles we had along the way. I'll share some of the unique tools in the Rust ecosystem that helped us during the process, and dive deep into some of the technical pitfalls and lessons we learned.
Additionally, I'll provide an overview of best practices for deploying Rust applications to production, including CI / CD pipelines, continuous profiling / benchmarking, and how to catch bugs early.

***

We'll open doors at 7pm, and the talk will be from 7:30pm-8:30pm. And as usual, if there's enough interest, we'll go hang out at a local bar afterwards!

***

If you'd like to share a talk with us, have talk suggestions, or would like to keep up with our virtual events in the future, please join our Rust East Coast Discord, where we plan and share future and past talks!
