Too many unit tests: A tale of macros and BigDecimals

Details

Join us for our next meetup! This month, Andrew Kubera will present a new way to easily add tests to your Rust applications, at the Materialize office.

In Andrew's own words: Have you ever found yourself wishing to parameterize your unit tests, but have no clean way to do it within standard Rust functions? I did while testing the BigDecimal crate, and found a nice way to generate test cases using Rust macros. This talk will cover the basics of BigDecimal (and the improvements coming to the crate), how to solve problems using macros, and how to organize your tests to be easier to read and write.

Note the temporary entrance to Materialize.

***

We'll open doors at 7pm, and the talks will be from 7:30pm-8:30pm. And as usual, if there's enough interest, we'll go hang out at a local bar afterward!
The main lobby is under construction, so the address is actually 440 Lafayette Street, which is two doors down from the main entrance to Materialize.

If you'd like to share a talk with us, have talk suggestions, or would like to keep up with our virtual events in the future, please join our Rust East Coast Discord, where we plan and share future and past talks!
