This will be our weekly event until we decide on ways to branch out. Some good ideas came out of our first meet, so watch this space!

Bring your project to work on at the VMFA lawn, where drinks and snacks will be available at the cafe. Remember sunscreen and a blanket or something to sit on, and optionally, your own snacks.

I will get there early and try to reserve a spot in the shade, then post how to find it. The chapel is pinned as the event location to guide everyone to the correct part of the museum grounds.

Find inspiration for your next project!
We’ll be immersing ourselves in the local art scene at the First Friday Arts District walk. We’ll explore open art galleries, local vendors, murals, street performances and other hidden gems. This First Friday is extra special because Virago Alley, the people who put local Renaissance Faires, will be opening their workshop location at Gallery 5!

Please wear comfortable shoes and something to carry anything you may purchase.

Meet at: GWARBar (217 W Clay St) at 6:30pm. They have great happy hour specials from 5-7pm so arrive earlier if you want to grab a drink before we walk. You will need to street park or find one of the paid lots. Suggested parking is street parking across from Abner Clay Park.

Join us for a special edition of the crafting meetup! Fine Art & Flowers is a free event. We will start with a trip around the galleries to find and appreciate fresh flower arrangements made to perfectly coordinate with select works of art. This biennial treat is one worth catching while the arrangements are fresh and in their prime.

After we’ve had our fill of inspiration, we will head back to the cafe area to craft as usual!

Happy Hour deals runs from 5:30-7:30 pm. Please arrive earlier to enjoy drinks as they are not allowed in the galleries.

Street park around the area or paid parking is available in the parking deck during museum hours.
