Creating and Deepening Safety in Relationships with Gavin and Joy Taylor
Rogue Valley Metaphysical Library, 1757 Ashland St, Ashland, OR, USFREE ADMISSION – 1757 Ashland St., Ashland, OR. One mile west of I-5 Exit 14.
A Dating and relationship lecture with Gavin & Joy Taylor. You deserve to feel safe. In love, your body, and the messy, magical territory of human connection.
Whether you’re dating, partnered, or somewhere in between, the quality of your relationships often comes down to one thing: Do you feel safe to be your whole self? Do you know how to create that sense of safety for your partner and yourself?
In this honest and heartfelt workshop, we’ll explore building and deepening emotional and relational safety as the foundation for true intimacy. We’ll unpack what attachment styles have to do with your reactions in love, how your nervous system influences connection, and why co-regulation isn’t just for therapy sessions—it’s for everyday life, including those awkward late-night “What are we even doing?” conversations.
We’ll also explore how transparency builds trust, and why balancing the needs for safety, risk, independence, and belonging is a lifelong dance.
This is an invitation to come home to yourself and create the kind of connection where you and your partner can exhale. You’ll leave with greater clarity, practical tools, and possibly a few good laughs. After all, if we can’t laugh about love, what can we laugh about? As husband-and-wife co-facilitators, Gavin and Joy Taylor bring over 65 years of combined experience in designing and leading transformational programs and workshops. Their shared passion is establishing environments where participants feel deeply seen, heard and valued. Committed to creating a space where authenticity thrives, we invite you to safely explore your vulnerabilities, celebrate your power, and engage in meaningful self-discovery.

The Spiritual Dimension of the Enneagram: From Personality to Presence
Rogue Valley Metaphysical Library, 1757 Ashland St, Ashland, OR, USFREE ADMISSION – 1757 Ashland St., Ashland, OR. One mile west of I-5 Exit 14.
The Enneagram is an ancient and sacred nine-pointed symbol and system of personal transformation that describes nine different personality types or styles. “Ennea” is Greek for nine, and “gram” means a drawing, written character or letter. Study and practice of the Enneagram can help you to: 1) Identify and move beyond old, unconscious and painful habits of body, heart and mind 2) Increase understanding of and compassion for self and others 3) Effectively integrate psychological, behavioral and spiritual life 4) Gain access to type-related Spiritual Qualities and, ultimately, your Essence or True Nature.
This presentation will introduce participants to the fundamentals of the modern Enneagram, including: the 9 Types, 3 Centers of Intelligence, 3 Instincts, 27 Subtypes, 2 Wings, Inner Lines, Stress/Growth and Security/Heart Points. Popular applications of Enneagram theory and practice will be noted, e.g. in business, therapy, relationships, parenting, human resources, and more. In the second half we will look at the more spiritual or transpersonal dimensions of the system, which include the Virtues and Holy Ideas, Essential or Spiritual Qualities, and the return to our True Nature.
“The Enneagram is one of the few personality systems that anchors type in spiritual life. The system provides a link between the nine personality types and Higher Consciousness.” -Helen Palmer
Carl Marsak is an academic and spiritual teacher with almost 40 years of experience in Enneagram studies and practices. He is founder and director of The Enneagram Center of Southern Oregon. Carl has graduate degrees in Religious Studies (NYU) and Social and Cultural Anthropology (CIIS). An accredited Enneagram Professional in the International Enneagram Association, and certified in the Narrative Tradition of Helen Palmer and David Daniels, M.D. (2004), his approach combines modern psychology and anthropology, comparative religion and contemporary spirituality. He first encountered the Enneagram in 1987, and has been teaching it regularly since 1998 in England, Scotland, India, Canada, Iceland, and all over the U.S.
Carl (Type 7) has written many articles on this topic, and presented in six international conferences. He lives in Ashland with his wife Kathy (Type 3) and Golden Retriever, Sita (Type 9.)
