Rapid Relief, Real Resilience: EMDR, Flash & Change that Lasts byCeleste Himanek
Rogue Valley Metaphysical Library, 1757 Ashland St, Ashland, OR, USFREE ADMISSION – 1757 Ashland St., Ashland, OR. One mile west of I-5 Exit 14.
What if healing didn’t have to hurt? In this illuminating presentation, therapist and EMDR consultant Celeste Himanek invites you to explore how the brain can release emotional pain and restore balance, often more gently than you’d imagine. Through the lens of modern trauma therapy, Celeste will introduce two powerful, evidence-based approaches: EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and the FLASH Technique. Both methods work with your nervous system, not against it, to ease overwhelm and reorganize old emotional patterns, often without the need to re-tell or re-live distressing memories.
You’ll discover how the brain stores emotion, what helps the body feel safe enough to let go, and why moments of healing can sometimes feel sudden, peaceful, and even joyful. Whether you’ve experienced trauma yourself or simply want to understand the science of emotional resilience, this presentation offers hope, and a deeper appreciation for the brain’s remarkable capacity to heal.
Celeste Himanek is a Licensed Professional Counselor, EMDRIA Approved Consultant, author, speaker, and founder of Realizations Counseling Center in Southern Oregon. With more than 20 years of experience, she specializes in trauma recovery, grief, and performance enhancement, offering multi-day EMDR intensive retreats for clients seeking rapid, lasting change.
Celeste has also presented internationally on the Flash Technique and its many applications. Her work blends evidence-based methods with a compassionate, strengths-focused approach – and she brings warmth, energy, and a sense of fun to what she teaches. She helps individuals and professionals shift limiting beliefs, build resilience, and reclaim a sense of possibility.
Celeste is passionate about making trauma healing both effective and engaging. She is the creator of Resilience by Design, a program offering workshops and tools for personal and team resilience. Known for her engaging teaching style, she combines practical strategies with interactive experiences to help participants leave not just informed but transformed.

Join facilitator Marla Estes to watch fascinating and insightful videos carefully selected to explore ways to depolarize and then engage in a facilitated discussion to help integrate new perspectives.
With a background in Psychology, Marla created Building Bridgers in 2017 to address the growing social and political polarization in our country.
