- The Power of Vulnerability by Ronnie KaufmanRogue Valley Metaphysical Library, Ashland, OR
FREE ADMISSION – 1757 Ashland St., Ashland, OR. One mile west of I-5 Exit 14.
Since 2023, I’ve offered this popular class, The Power of Vulnerability, nine times to OLLI at SOU as part of my five-part course, Journey Between Your Heart and Soul. Now, I’m honored to bring it to the Southern Oregon community at RVML.
Together, we’ll explore the insights of Dr. Brené Brown through nine short, impactful video clips from her renowned TED Talk on vulnerability and human connection. After each clip, I’ll facilitate open and engaging group discussions … inviting participants to reflect and share on what resonates with them personally… or doesn’t. There are no right or wrong answers here … just honest, thoughtful conversations about what it means to empathize, belong, and love. It is during these discussions where the real “aha” moments take place.
In this funny and poignant TED Talk, Brown shares a profound insight from her research that launched her into a personal journey … not just to understand herself more deeply, but to uncover the nature of human connection itself. Come as you are and join this heartfelt journey into what truly connects us.

Ronnie Kaufman’s Bio: My professional career began in 1968 as a film editor at WGN TV Studios in Chicago. A few years later, I transitioned into the world of technology and, by 1980, became the chief technical architect for one of the world’s first online global distribution systems. This pioneering work led me to speak across the U.S. and internationally, sharing the promise of emerging digital infrastructure.
In 1983, I founded a North American computer consulting firm that expanded to 35 software engineers, serving Fortune 1000 companies and government clients with offices in Minneapolis and Phoenix, AZ. After 16 years, I sold the business.
In 2002, I launched a consumer internet company offering customized car reports about consumer’s year, make and model car. Over 12 years, the business attracted more than 600,000 opted-in members before I sold it in 2012.
While entrepreneurship shaped much of my career, service and leadership to non-profits has always been central to my life. I chaired the board of Divorce Recovery, Inc. in Tucson, AZ for nine years and personally led over 30 8-week support groups, helping more than 350 individuals navigate the challenges of separation and renewal.
In 2012, I was elected President of the International Coach Federation of Southern Arizona by my peers of more than 40 professional coaches. I’ve also served on the boards of an 850-family synagogue and a $100 million community foundation in Southern Arizona.
