RVML’s Lecture Series: “Visions of LastThings”- A Deep DiveInto Eschatology
Details
FREE ADMISSION – 1757 Ashland St., Ashland, OR. One mile west of I-5 Exit 14.
Eschatology is the branch of theology concerned with the study of “last things,” including the end of history, the afterlife, and the ultimate destiny of humanity and the world. Derived from the Greek word eschatos (“last”), it covers topics like the Second Coming of Jesus, resurrection, judgment, and the new creation. It focuses on both individual death/judgment and universal, cosmic end-times.
In this presentation, explore how cultures and traditions imagine the ultimate future of individuals, humanity, and the cosmos, and how those visions shape life in the present.
Billy Wisdom is the Library Manager at the Rogue Valley Metaphysical Library (RVML) and has worked as a librarian in Ashland for 20 years, helping people discover and navigate a wide range of philosophical, spiritual, and scientific perspectives.
Drawing on his long experience curating diverse materials and facilitating community learning, Billy presents a clear, accessible overview of eschatological themes, encouraging open, thoughtful reflection rather than promoting any single point of view.
